How to maintain the fun and convenience of these "suicide machines", while also doing so safely and with respect for the environment
What is one way people can get around quickly — particularly if they are only travelling on their own — while not emitting as much pollution as one would if they drove a car? A fast, fun, and convenient answer to that question is a motorcycle! That said, one might want to consider which type of motorcycle to buy as well as how to drive it, beyond the knowledge imparted by motorcycle instructors.
According to Nguyen and Gonzalez (2021, Vietnam has experienced significant economic growth during the past decade, so more mobility is needed. As such, while 80% of travel needs in Vietnamese cities are satisfied by motorcycles, the middle class has substantially increased so demand for automobiles has also significantly grown. However, a consequence of this increased demand is the transport sector has also become an increasingly significant contributor to total GHG emissions in the form of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, and sulphur oxide — for both cars and motorcycles.
